There are various free atlassian retro boards and integrations for Atlassian (Jira & Confluence). But which of the tools is best?
An agile retrospective in Atlassian can be conducted in Confluence (Atlassian). On the right you can see a retro template as a Confluence page.
On the one hand, there are of course the Atlassian Retrospective Tools within the respective Atlassian Tools: In Confluence there are "Retrospective Templates" such as "Start Stop Keep", in Jira you could create a Kanban Board for it. On the other hand, there are many retrospective apps within the Atlassian Marketplace and other tools that offer integrations. Examples include Echometer or Team Retro.
The question of which is the best Atlassian Retrospective Tool is difficult to answer: It depends on your context. If you want perfect integration into the Atlassian Suite, then you can only work with Confluence or Jira, whereby Confluence is more designed for this.
If you really want to develop your team including an agile mindset (i.e. the goal of agile retrospectives), then you should take a look at agile retrospective tools. These specialize in the use case "Interactive and fun online retros" and often have integrations with the Atlassian Suite. For example, Echometer or Parabol can be mentioned here.
It's also difficult to answer the question of which is the best Atlassian Retro Board: Again, it depends on your context. If you want perfect integration into the Atlassian Suite, then you can practically only work with Jira and put together your own Kanban Retro Board.
